CIAT is pleased to offer free consultations with one of our local chartered architectural technologists at The Northern Home Show 2012 in Mancheste. A Chartered Architectural Technologist can work on all types of building projects, specialises in the science and technology of architecture and can lead a project from initial design through to completion, including the issuing of the necessary certificates. NB many people use the word 'architect' as a generic descriptor but Chartered Architectural Technologists are qualified to offer and provide the same services and have specialisms in the science and technology of architecture. Members available to ask: Scott Lonie is a Chartered Architectural Technologist with over 20 years experience in the construction industry. He studied at Sheffield Hallam University. His experience is wide and diverse ranging from the very small (house extensions) to the very large (£22.5m education projects). Currently, he holds a well respected position at Watson Batty Architects Ltd in Leeds, but also runs his own private practice. As a project lead on projects across many different sectors including social housing, large distribution and industrial, education and commercial, he has the ability of bringing vast technical expertise and knowledge to projects. He prides himself on providing, not only technically excellent solutions but also beautiful design to all his projects. Christian J Yorke BSc(Hons) MCIAT MBEng, Chartered Architectural Technologist - Christian has been directly involved in the building of eight houses for himself and others, so is well acquainted with the process as a whole and also the difficulties of each trade and how they need to knit together to create a smooth and stress free project. Christian has extensive experience of preparing tender documents, assessing tenders, assigning contracts and administering the whole process from start to finish, including valuations and issue of all certificates, both for payments to contractors and for mortgage purposes. |
